Kaag, Bassil discuss situation in Ain al Helwe
Kaag called on UNRWA to maintain its services, adding that she agreed to follow up with Minister Bassil the developments and challenges affecting Lebanon.
She reminded of the importance of electing General Michel Aoun as President and the formation of Saad Hariri-led national unity government.
Separately, Bassil received Australian Ambassador to Lebanon, Glenn Miles, who said that the meeting “focused on USD 220 million aid to Lebanon over a three-year period.”
The pair tackled means to reinforce bilateral relations.
Afterwards, the minister met with UNICEF Representative in Lebanon, Tanya Chapuisat, who said that a delegation was intending to visit Lebanon mid-March and meet with the Premier and concerned ministers.
Ambassador of Sri Lanka and Netherlands Embassy Charge d’Affaires also paid Bassil a visit.
