Clarification Announcement from the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Regarding your Registration to Vote Abroad
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of Lebanon would like to inform the Lebanese public in the United States of America that Article 107 of the Lebanese Elections Law no. 25/2008 stipulates that the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities of Lebanon will add a note next to the name of the voter who declares the desire to vote abroad by registering at any Lebanese Embassy or Consulate. This note prevents the possibility of having the said voter cast his/her vote in Lebanon since by registering at any Lebanese Mission, he or she will cast their vote abroad.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of Lebanon asserts that adding this note does not mean whatsoever the deletion of the voter’s name from the electoral rolls in Lebanon. Adding such a note is only meant to avoid double voting in Lebanon and abroad.
