Bassil after Change and Reform bloc meeting: Correcting Christian representation in harmony with national pact

NNA – Free Patriotic Movement (FPM) chief, Foreign Minister, Gebran Bassil, said that correcting Christian representation through the election law comes in compliance with the national pact rather than being sectarian.
“The only available proposal nowadays is the qualification law,” Minister Bassil said on Tuesday in the wake of “Change and Reform” bloc’s weekly meeting.
Bassil underlined the dire need for a new vote law that takes into account the national pact specifications, consensual democracy and full citizenship.
The Minister also regretted that the Senate proposal has been thwarted.
Turning to the electricity dossier, Bassil deprecated the groundless lies and claims leveled via media against the bloc and the minister, saying that the bloc has asked the Justice Minister to seek a legal mean to bring these alleged claims to a halt. Bassil hoped that the judiciary would shoulder its responsibility in this regard.
